SATURDAY, AUGUST 16 @ 10PM at Dixon Place:

It's showtime again, and I'm not talking about "state of the union." I am talking about none other than:

The "outlandishly riotous" Curse! (check out the commercial and our blog here: www.imichigannewyork.blogspot.com)

Last show of the summer.

Now, I'm not the kind of braggart to create my own press quotes.*The words those quotations are hugging are freshdirect from the Village Voice. Not MY voice, but the village's. A village who goes by the name of journalist, Sharyn Jackson.** We are a Voice Choice this week and we couldn't be prouder, as we are pro-choice and very especially pro-voice choice. http://www.villagevoice.com/events/search/?date=2008-08-16

In other news, Hardy Dardy and his signature game show "Wheat Penny Wisdom" made an appearance at the new Galapagos in Dumbo for Earl Dax's (scenedowntown) Welcome Wagon! evening, with such performers as Cintra Wilson, Joseph Keckler, Nick Hallett, the Daisy Spurs, Glenn Marla, and The Curse' s very own "boylesque wunderkind" La John Joseph who will be appearing on the show this month. We also have Thain Torres and Raven Melissa, who will be putting a real, live hex on a special presidential candidate, AND, and Pole-dancing Choreographer Kyra Johannesen! And don't forget that Allan the Cupcake Boy will be serving free cupcakes made by the infamous Chef Tre, and Professor Clark P. Johnson Jr. will teach us a valuable lesson about pennies. So please turn it out. That is my appeal to you.

* "This would be really funny if it wasn't my daughter."--my mother.
**Sometimes it takes a Sharyn Jackson to raise a child. The child is The Curse.

Q: What does Michigan's most devoted husband and father do when he's driven away from NOT ONLY his sales manager
position at Art Van Furniture, but from the entirety of the Mitten State because he's the only guy man enough to admit that he
menstruates?
Where does he go?
Who will love him now?

A: YOU WILL.

Ladies and Jaunt-lemen, Harold "Hardy" Dardy has been forced into Big Apple citizenship, yes, but he's arrived with an open heart and open arms. It is up to us to fill that heart and those arms with our alms. Now an employee at Raymour and Flanigan in East Harlem, Hardy is building a new life for himself, and a foundation for his family's transition to New York City from Saginaw, MI. An entrepeneur by birth, always the creative salesman, and a pro at making lemonade out of cold, hard lemons, Hardy has created a monthly talk/variety show for the enjoyment of viewers and listeners alike. (also a radio show that web-streams live on Cupcake Radio [www.cbs-fm.org]) The Curse is a benefit to raise money for the Dardy Family move! Hardy Dardy has been eyeing properties in his favorite neighborhood in New York City, Central Park, and he has designs on building a 4BR/ 2.5 Bath Ranch, w/ an EIK, gar, FP, a swingset and in-ground pool! The house is a surprise for Molly, his wife, and his chips off of the old block Penny, Sarah and Geoffrey, so, shhh, don't tell your friends in Saginaw!

He's met a whole bunch of folks in the big apple--folks with TALENT. And these big-city superstars are going to BLOW YOU AWAY. If you're a fan of the Late Show, Pee Wee's Playhouse, Sigfried and Roy, and This Old House, look no further--The Curse has it all. Magic, Jokes, Stars, Talking Recliners, and Plenty of Tools! Hardy will bring (what else?!) his own jokes and magic tricks INCLUDING the old finger trick, his special beer-battered bratwurst grilled LIVE, cupcakes, and his cast of thousands!

THE CURSE at Dixon Place
March 14th and 15th, 8:00 PM EST

258 Bowery (upstairs) - NYC

Listen to the March 15th broadcast!

33.9 MB mp3 file

Michigan Family-Man Hardy Dardy (left) is hosting The Curse, a radio show with a live studio audience! (That's you.) The show features a variety of performance artists from across the country at Dixon Place and will be broadcast live on Cupcake Radio, over the web and on the local FM airwaves.

Performers are Bay Area-based brilliant memoirist and AVN-nominated porn star, LORELEI LEE; Philadelphia's anti-folkstress, EMILY BATE (more of a ham than a cheese-steak!); and Charm City-based jump-rope artist, KARL JONES. (His performance is a "feet" of genius!)

NYC's own dream-come-true-girl, herself, the WORLD FAMOUS *BOB*, will be serving cupcakes on Friday the 14th! And, DAN FISHBACK, the playwright/musician the Advocate refers to as the "brainy exile in brawny, beautiful gay guyville" (that's NYC for those of you who mistakenly thought NYC was the "big apple,") will be serving a batch o' cupcakes and playing ditties on Saturday the 15th!

Hardy will be giving a play-by-play of ALL performances for the listeners at home, as well as color commentary and slow-motion instant replays of his own featuring:

Listeners (and live studio audience members) will have opportunity to call in LIVE and ask the performers and Hardy Dardy questions about:

Listeners should also stay tuned for Hardy's famous mime work and optical illusions!

PS---Hardy Dardy is Erin Markey and vice versa.
